Straw Bale Workshop end of March 2009 - Update

Eco Design Architects would like to thank everybody who attended the Straw Bale workshop in Barrydale. It was a great success and all attending the workshop enjoyed themselves.

This previous news text read:
Eco Design Architects will be holding a Straw Bale Construction workshop on the weekend of the 28. and 29. March 2009 in Barrydale (On the R62 in the Klein Karoo).  The emphasize of the workshop will be the wall raising including the plastering of the bale wall which involves the dipping process. Please note that this is a participatory workshop. All that have always been interested in this natural building technology or are just curious about it, are welcome to contact us for more information.
 
Nieuwoudtville Award

Eco Design Architects was awarded the Holcim Award for Sustainable Construction 2005 & took silver in the Africa and Middle East Region for their designs for the Nieuwoudtville Caravan Site Upgrade

Mamre Revitalization Project is an initiative by the City of Cape Town to promote the preservation and restoration of Mamre’s rich heritage resources, while helping to alleviate poverty and promote skills transfer.
